Clay Cook – The Burger
Clay cook:
“It is steaming, grilled, fried, raising, resting, poured, leaking…
While thinking about the last burger i had.
Soft and firm, juicy and dry, with bits here and there, but hmmmm! Tasty!
So much inspiration is happening in the kitchen.
Delicious, can my clay be too.
I put my apron on and get my tools ready…
It is shrinking and drying, yet i mix it up, turn it into slip, i cast it, bisque it, glaze it, then bake it, yes but no, mix it again, test it and see closer.
Yes, just melt it, break it, press it, adjust the temperature, soften it.
Yes, yes that’s it , versatile and never ending. Just like cuisine.
It is all about being a “clay cook”
Inspired by the cooking environment, i play with clay to push its limits.
I am still looking for my signature dish, which would opens a dialogue between the world of cooking and ceramics.
I looked closely to my meals, like art piece my grand-ma made, with love.
Its OK if it is too dry being slightly overcooked, next time it will be better.
Other days when dishes were perfect, i wish i frozen them, and i’ll bite these little memories as slow as i like.
My “frozen” clay cook pieces are like trophies, i like to express and point out food qualities with clay, every dish should be rewarded . “
